Tobago, August 30, 2025 — The picturesque Courland Heritage Park in Tobago served as the backdrop for the highly anticipated 2025 CARIFTA Triathlon, Aquathlon and Mixed Relay Championships held on August 23-24, 2025. This event brought together over a hundred young athletes from across the Caribbean, showcasing their talents in triathlon, mixed relay, and aquathlon competitions.
The competition saw around 13 countries participating, T&T, Bermuda, Guyana, Grenada, Aruba, Bahamas just to name a few. The spirit of competition was palpable as participants from various countries vied for top honors. Bermuda emerged as the standout performer of the championships, clinching the title of overall high-point country, a testament to their athletes’ exceptional display of skill and endurance.
Among the highlights of the event, Rory Shepherd of Bermuda achieved remarkable success, securing gold medals in individual events and contributing to a silver medal performance in the mixed team relay. The championships not only highlighted the athletic prowess of the participants but also fostered camaraderie and sportsmanship among the young triathletes.
The CARIFTA Triathlon Championships were organized by the Trinidad and Tobago Triathlon Federation, aiming to elevate the profile of triathlon in the region and inspire the next generation of athletes.
